Sorry all, but I’ve got to officially put The Mixing Zone on hold until October. Summer’s turning out much busier than I thought, and I’m suddenly booked up with travel and/or work obligations through the end of September. I’ll be in Portland quite a bit, but it won’t be in a definable time, so there may be impromptu meetings posted on the Facebook page, but no regular happy hour meetups until October. Again, my apologies.
We’re meeting at Market Street Pub at 6pm on this Thursday. Hope we can get some sun and sit on the patio. Come join us. Look for John Metta and The Mixing Zone signs, but mostly look for John, since he often forgets the signs.

Apologies everyone, I scheduled the last announcement post and forgot to proof read it before it went out. This is to confirm that the next meeting of The Mixing Zone is May 13th, 6pm at Market Street Pub in the Park Blocks.
April’s one of those months that messes up our plans, it has 5 weeks in it! But, don’t worry, we’re smart enough to out-fox April! It won’t fool us (pun intended) into an extra Mixing Zone!
Well, that, and I can’t make it.
The next meeting of The Mixing Zone will be on May 13th.
Since Summer is here, we’re going to switch things up a bit and get some outside time throughout the summer months. So, we’ll be meeting at McMenamins Market Street Pub (map) until further notice.
As always, look for The Mixing Zone sign, or call my cell if you can’t find us (541.716.1387) and I’ll tell you where we are.
Join us on April 1st for an April Fool’s Day version of The Mixing Zone. We won’t play any mean jokes on you, but you can bring your own joke for the Fool’s Raffle!
Bring your favorite joke and tell it to us, then put your name in the Fool’s hat. At 7 pm, someone will draw a name out of the hat to win a $5 gift certificate to… to…
Well, it’s just to a local Java Joint, nothing spectacular, but certainly fun.
The Mixing Zone will be at Rock Bottom Brewing, Downtown PDX, 6pm on April 1st. We’ll be in the upstairs area, where the pool tables are. Look for the table with our logo on it.

The next Mixing Zone is tomorrow, and I have to apologize up front for the lack of announcement lead time. I had this post written and didn’t “publish” it. Lame excuse, but there you are.

I learned some lessons from the last one. I apologize to those who came and couldn’t find us. Because of that, here are some more specific details:
We’ll be in the upstairs portion of the bar, where the pool tables are. Head toward the restrooms if you don’t know where that is. I’ll have signs with The Mixing Zone logo on our tables so that you know those happy strangers are actually friends.
I hope to see you all there, and remember, if you can’t make it, our next gathering is on April Fool’s Day, Thursday, April 1st in the same location.
I know what you’re saying: “Two months behind us and no official Mixing Zone meeting yet?”
I know, I know. The beginning of the year got a bit ahead of me, but there are good reasons. ((ones that make sure The Mixing Zone will be more than one or two meetings, happily.)) Still, we have to get moving, or we may not start. And so, I’ll say that the first “full-on, everyone come on down, official Mixing Zone” will be on… Yes, it makes so much sense… March 4th!
